SC LLR Announces 2019 Safety Award Recipients
As we celebrate National Safety Month, the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation announces the recipients of the 2019 Safety Achievement Awards. The Safety Awards program is the Agency’s way of rewarding employers, both large and small, for the success of their safety and health programs.
The 2019 Safety Award Recipients are in the following three categories:
Palmetto Shining Star
These employers met at least one of the following criteria: (1) no recordable injuries or illnesses during calendar year 2018; (2) a reduction of at least 40% in the employer’s incidence rate between 2017 and 2018; (3) a difference of at least 75% in the employer’s 2018 incidence rate and the 2017 South Carolina average rate for that industry; or (4) worked one million or more safe work hours without a lost-time injury or illness.
