Site Selectors Guild Elects New Board, Unveils Visual Identity

The Site Selectors Guild (SSG), the association of the world’s leading corporate location advisors, elected a new board and unveiled a new visual identity at the organization’s 2018 Annual Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio in March. Along with the election of new board members, Didi Caldwell was elected chairman of the board.

Caldwell has been a member of SSG since 2012, has served on the board for four years and previously served as treasurer. She is a principal at Global Location Strategies, a business-consulting firm providing site selection and location incentives negotiation services.

“The Site Selectors Guild is the only association of its kind to advance the site selection profession and assist economic development organizations as a collective whole,” explains Caldwell. “I believe in its vision that every corporate location decision is guided by an experienced location strategy professional and I look forward to working closely with the board, staff and members this year to keep the organization constantly striving for professional excellence.”

In addition to the chairman, the following Guild members have been elected to the board and will serve as officers:

-Mark Williams, president of the Strategic Development Group and immediate past board chair will remain on the board as vice chair
-Andy Shapiro, managing director at Biggins Lacy Shapiro, remains on the board as secretary
-John Sission, executive managing director at the Next Move Group, will serve as board treasurer
-Chris Lloyd, senior vice present and director of infrastructure and economic development at McGuireWoods Consulting, LLC, remains on the board
-Don Schjeldahl, principal at the Don Schjeldahl Group, also remains on the board
-Phil Schneider, president of Schneider Strategy Consulting LLC, also remains on the board

The Guild also developed a new logo and design standards that were unveiled at the Annual Conference.

“By developing a new logo and design standard, our goal was to solidify our organization’s appeal and professionalism through contemporary colors and imagery, improved audience engagement and stronger online resources,” said Site Selectors Guild vice chair Mark Williams. “We also added the tagline, The World’s Leading Location Strategists, to communicate that our members do so much more than site selection.”

The Guild also refreshed its website, SiteSelectorsGuild.com, to showcase this new brand and better represent the thought leadership of its 44 members. The new site has an improved member search function, a blog with articles authored by Guild members from around the globe and improved content areas for both economic developers and corporate end-users.
