by GroundBreak Carolinas News Editor on December 14, 2017

Stanley Black & Decker (NYSE: SWK), one of the world’s largest tool and storage companies, is opening a new manufacturing facility in York County. The new operations are projected to bring $31 million in capital investment and lead to the creation of 500 new jobs.

“You may know Stanley Black & Decker has always been committed to American manufacturing. But you may not know that we operate 30 manufacturing plants across America, and have announced two more American manufacturing plants and several factory expansions in this year alone,” said Jeff Ansell, Stanley Black & Decker Global Tools and Storage President. “We are proud to continuously make more product in the U.S.A., and even prouder to be the world’s largest and America’s largest tool company.”

An internationally-recognized Fortune 500 company, Stanley Black & Decker is a diversified global provider of hand tools, power tools and related accessories; electronic security solutions; and, engineered fastening systems.

Stanley Black & Decker will be occupying a new 345,000-square-foot facility for the manufacture and assembly of DEWALT cordless power tools. The new facility will be located in the Lakemont Business Park in Fort Mill, S.C.

With a manufacturing presence in the U.S. dating back to 1843, Stanley Black & Decker continues to advance its “Made in the USA with Global Materials” operations by growing its manufacturing capacity in the U.S. This York County facility will enable further acceleration of Stanley Black & Decker’s “Make Where We Sell” strategy.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project.
