Stephen L. Davis, President & CEO of Davis & Floyd, Honored by The Citadel for Engineering Excellence

Stephen L. Davis, President & CEO of Davis & Floyd, was inducted into The Citadel School of Engineering Academy of Engineers on April 21, 2022. This annual ceremony, now in its 10th year, honors engineering leaders from both the public and private sectors who have enjoyed substantial success in their professional lives and made significant contributions to their communities.

Davis has lived a life consistent with The Citadel School of Engineering mission, which is to “educate and develop Principled Engineering Leaders to serve a global community.” He has been a servant-leader who sees his role in the world to first serve others through their incredible skills.

Davis has spent his entire career working with Davis & Floyd and participating in its growth. He excels in strategic planning and team building.

A pioneer in Traditional Neighborhood Development, Davis has managed private development projects involving award-winning, authentic communities, including Habersham in Beaufort, SC.

“I am honored to be inducted into The Citadel School of Engineering Academy of Engineers. As a Citadel alum, I have strived throughout my professional life to adhere to the school’s principles of integrity, diversity, respect for others, professional and intellectual development for all, and excellence through continuous development. My late father and cofounder of Davis & Floyd, Emmett Irwin Davis, Jr., shared in this commitment to The Citadel’s values and was similarly inducted into the Academy in 2014. It is a privilege to follow in his footsteps,” said Davis.

Outside of his role at Davis & Floyd, he is involved with real estate development and timber-related activities with a high measure of conservation integrated in both. Davis serves as past chairman of The Citadel Foundation, board member for Countybank, former board member for the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, and session member for the Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church.
