by Stewart on August 13, 2021

RALEIGH, N.C. – Stewart, an interdisciplinary design, engineering and planning firm, announced it has promoted Trina Agnello, P.E., to assistant manager of structural engineering.

“In addition to leading high-profile projects throughout Charlotte and beyond, Trina is an active mentor among our team members and an advocate for the industry overall. Her standards for upholding our company’s values are impeccable,” said Willy Stewart, CEO and founder of Stewart. “As we continue integrating our values throughout all aspects of how we operate, the presence of varied backgrounds and experience in leadership positions helps us strengthen both our company culture and our business outlook. We look forward to the direction Trina will help take our structural practice.”

In her new role, Agnello leads a diverse team of talented professionals, including building information modeling (BIM) designers, construction administrators, engineers and project managers. She also oversees and serves as senior project manager on structural engineering projects throughout the Carolinas.

Agnello has more than 20 years of experience working in North Carolina and Florida on a wide variety of projects, including multifamily, commercial, retail, public safety, private residential and healthcare. Her work is featured across the state, including Trevi Village senior living facility in Charlotte, UNC Pembroke School of Business classroom building, Asheville Fire Station and Latta Plantation Nature Reserve in Mecklenburg County. Her work leading the structural engineering team on Central Piedmont Community College’s North Classroom Building was featured in Modern Steel Construction magazine.

Agnello has worked on projects as both a project engineer and project manager using steel, wood, concrete and masonry construction, including deep foundation design. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Villanova University.

Involved in the advancement of the industry, Agnello serves as immediate past president and communications chair for the Structural Engineers Association of North Carolina (SEA of NC) and has been active in the alumni mentor program at Villanova University School of Engineering. Agnello also serves in advisory roles for higher education institutions, including the Central Piedmont Community College Civil Engineering Technology Program Advisory Committee and the Western Carolina University Construction Industry Advisory Council.
