Stewart’s Denise Southerland Takes on New Leadership Role Created to Enhance Client Experience

by Stewart on July 14, 2020

RALEIGH, N.C. – Stewart, an interdisciplinary design, engineering and planning firm, announced today it has promoted Denise Southerland to director of knowledge management and processes.

“Denise is a strategic thinker with a history of proactively taking on initiatives that make a company-wide impact – creating operational efficiencies, market awareness and the elevation of the company’s brand and values internally and externally,” said Willy Stewart, CEO and founder of Stewart. “As director of knowledge management and processes, her leadership and commitment to Stewart and our continuous improvement efforts will continue to shine and provide value throughout the company and to our clients.”

In her new role, Southerland’s primary responsibilities include developing, improving and fully utilizing the company’s knowledge and process assets to enhance the client experience while increasing efficiency. Assets include quality reporting processes for each practice area, trainings and educational materials, collaboration software, business intelligence data and more.

The role also includes collaborating with corporate and practice leaders to develop best practice processes and programs to support the successful implementation of their strategic goals.

As an extension of her most recent role as Stewart’s director of strategic marketing, Southerland is also responsible for the company’s branding and go-to-market strategy, ensuring consistency between internal and external messaging.

Southerland brings more than 23 years of experience across marketing and business administration roles with the majority in the architectural, engineering and construction industry. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from North Carolina State University and is an MBA Candidate at Western Governors University (WGU).

Outside of the office, Southerland is active in industry organizations including Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women (TCREW) where she served on the board of directors and as a committee chair, Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), and American Marketing Association (AMA) Triangle Chapter.
