Trehel Launches Custom Homebuilding Division, Trehel Tailored Homes

by GroundBreak Carolinas Staff on April 15, 2024

Greenville (SC)-based Trehel, one of the most successful and respected privately-held general contractors serving the region, is pleased to announce the launch of Trehel Tailored Homes, a new division of the company focused on high-end custom homebuilding.

Trehel Tailored Homes will complement Trehel’s commercial business, which has provided construction management, general contracting, and design-build services in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia for more than forty years. In addition to working in commercial, faith-based, industrial, healthcare, education and other industries, Trehel has built state-of-the-art club amenities for several communities, including The Cliffs, The Reserve at Lake Keowee and Wade Hampton Golf Club. From humble beginnings in the early 1980s, Trehel’s earliest projects were in residential construction.

“The launch of Trehel Tailored Homes is an exciting milestone that brings our company story full circle,”

said Trehel Chief Executive Officer Will Huss. “As we continue to experience growth in our commercial business, expanding into the residential construction market will diversify our offerings while meeting the needs of customers who have asked about our homebuilding capabilities for years.”

Trehel has acquired Mobius Construction, and founder and former owner Matt Ruth will join Trehel to serve as Team Leader of Trehel Tailored Homes. With more than 25 years of experience, Ruth has been building homes in Greenville since 2009. Ruth will work alongside Huss and Trehel President and Chief Operating Officer Keith Poole to deliver custom homebuilding services in Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina through Trehel Tailored Homes.

“Joining Trehel is an exciting step in my career, and I look forward to working with Will and Keith on this new endeavor,” said Ruth. “Combining Trehel’s trusted approach and resources with my own experience will allow us to offer a highly collaborative building process.”

Trehel Tailored Homes seeks to guide customers through a positive building process that considers both the building and living experience. Through a customer-first approach, Trehel Tailored Homes envisions each home as a sanctuary for its owners and a special meeting place for gatherings among family and friends. In addition to custom residential build projects, Trehel Tailored Homes will pursue high-end home renovations and expansions. For more information, please visit trehelhomes.com.
