Wayne Brothers Supports Home-Build for N.C. Family as Part of Long-Standing Commitment to Veterans
Purple Heart Homes and Charlotte television station FOX 46 teamed up this fall to build a home for Angela Cherico, an honorably discharged veteran and North Carolina native who had fallen on hard times. The Carolina community rallied together to support the construction of Angela’s future home in Denver, N.C., located about 25 miles north of Charlotte.
Wayne Brothers, headquartered in nearby Davidson, N.C., heard the call for help and donated roughly 50 cubic yards of concrete and 200 man-hours to place and finish the concrete foundation. Wayne Brothers also engaged its client, Carocon, to donate blocks, sand, and mortar for the masonry foundation.

“When we found out about this we knew we had to help.” stated Jim Rhodes, Vice President of Civil & Infrastructure. “It’s definitely different than the normal, larger jobs we do, but this is one small way we can say Thank You to those who have served.”
The home is scheduled to be move-in-ready by Christmas 2018. Purple Heart recently reached out to Wayne Brothers again for help with the home. Wayne Brothers will be donating additional resources to put in a patio and driveway.
Wayne Brothers President Keith Wayne, noted, “We support and hold our Veterans in high regard, it’s our long-standing commitment.” Wayne Brothers actively supports Operation Homefront throughout the year and has a Veterans’ Employment and Development Program that is GI Bill approved.
Wayne Brothers has provided concrete construction, civil and infrastructure, and industrial contracting solutions throughout the Southeast for over 32 years.
