A M King Secures Two Prestigious DBIA Awards for TrueCore Insulated Metal Panel Facility
Charlotte, NC — Integrated Design-Build firm A M King has been recognized with two impressive awards from the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) for its work on TrueCore Insulated Metal Panel Facility in Laurens, S.C.
A M King provided full property consulting services, designed, and built a greenfield facility for TrueCore, a Laurens, S.C.-based manufacturer of Insulated Metal Panels. The company develops panels for use in facility construction and renovation of cold storage, food processing, dry industrial and manufacturing projects.
The 115,122-sf facility, which also serves as company headquarters, provides a novel approach to industrial building design. The facility is custom designed to accommodate 1,000 lineal feet of continuous production line and features include 11,000 sf of aesthetically pleasing, Class A corporate office space and 82,000 sf of exterior space for product laydown and handling. The facility also contains areas with 85-foot expanded bay spacing, recessed equipment pits, an overhead bridge crane and equipment rooms dedicated to chemical mixing and storage.

DBIA will present A M King with the National Award of Merit at the virtual Design-Build Conference & Expo at National Harbor, MD on Oct. 29. A M King is one of three Merit Award winners in the 2020 Design-Build Project/Team Awards that will be considered for the National Award of Excellence in the Industrial, Process and/or Research category. A M King also won a National Merit Award in the Small Project Category and will be considered for Best Small Project.
