ABC Carolinas Celebrates Projects & People at 2024 Excellence in Construction (EIC) Awards Gala
Associated Builders and Contractors Carolinas Chapter (ABC Carolinas) celebrated over 50 projects collectively worth $1.2 billion at the annual ABCC Excellence in Construction (EIC) Awards Gala on November 7, 2024. The ABC EIC Program is the industry’s leading competition that honors both general and specialty contractors for innovative and high-quality Merit Shop construction projects.
“The 2024 Excellence in Construction Awards showcased exceptional competition, with member companies contributing innovative, high-quality projects that raised the standard for the industry. Their collaboration and commitment to excellence made the selection process incredibly challenging, highlighting the incredible talent and dedication within the construction field,” said Kristen Powell, CEO and President of ABC Carolinas Chapter.

EXCLUSIVE SPECIALTY AWARDS
Messer Construction Co. received the ABC Carolinas Best in BIM (Building Information Technology) Award for the Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute in Charlotte, NC.
Adams Electric Company received the ABC Carolinas Free Enterprise Alliance Award for the Atrium Health Levine Cancer Proton & Advanced Radiation Center in Charlotte, NC.

EXCELLENCE IN CONSTRUCTION (EIC) AWARDS | Eagle, Merit and Honorable Mention
ABC Carolinas Chapter presented 24 Eagle Awards, 16 Merit Awards, and 10 Honorable Mention Awards. These awards recognize the efforts of all members of the construction team who contributed to each project, including the contractor, owner, architect, and engineer. The winning projects, chosen from submissions by ABC members in North Carolina and South Carolina, and were evaluated based on factors such as complexity, aesthetic appeal, challenges faced and overcome, completion time, craftsmanship, innovation, safety, and cost.
