ABC Carolinas Unveils 2025 Project of the Year Winners for General & Specialty Contractor

ABC Carolinas was thrilled to celebrate the outstanding contributions of its members at the 2025 Excellence in Construction (EIC) Awards gala held in Charlotte on November 6, 2025. Awards for first place (Eagle) and runner-up (Merit) were given out in various categories across two divisions: General Contractors and Specialty Contractors, as well as the exclusive Carolinas Best in BIM, Carolinas Design-Build, and Carolinas Free Enterprise Alliance awards. In keeping with tradition, the Project of the Year awards were revealed at the end of the evening: Brasfield & Gorrie for General Contractor and CarolinaPower for Specialty Contractor.

Brasfiled & Gorrie won 2025 General Contractor Project of the Year for the North Hills Expansion in Raleigh, NC, which won the Eagle Award in the Commercial: Over $50M category.

The North Hills Expansion revitalizes the Main District with residential, office, and creative spaces. Highland is a 12-story residential tower with 287 units, retail, and elevated amenities. One North Hills is a 266,000-square-foot, post-COVID- designed office tower, emphasizing wellness and flexibility. 4114 Creative Suites is a four-story, 80,800-square-foot office building offering adaptable layouts, a rooftop terrace, and a direct plaza connection.

Specialty Contractor | Project of the Year

CarolinaPower won 2025 Specialty Contractor Project of the Year for Clemson University’s Nieri Family Alumni and Visitors Center in Clemson, SC, which won the Eable Award in the| Electrical: $5M-$10M category.

This landmark project challenged CarolinaPower to deliver complex electrical systems within strict architectural constraints. The exposed cross-laminated timber (CLT) demanded innovative solutions to conceal conduit, wiring, and lighting connections without compromising design intent. Through prefabrication, BIM coordination, and precision installation, our team preserved the building’s clean aesthetic while ensuring full functionality, providing Clemson University with a signature facility that showcases both innovation and craftsmanship.
