The Eagle Award is ABC’s highest-level award. Pyramids are awarded to runner-ups.
Casie Sears Kerr of Raleigh-based specialty contractor Sears Contract, Inc. —2018 Chairman of ABC of the Carolinas — was among those from our region who attended the national conference. “ABC Carolinas proudly supports our member companies and project teams in their strive for building excellent projects. It was an honor to be among staff and members celebrating the successes of our local ABC Chapter members’ recognition at the ABC National Excellence in Construction awards ceremony.”
Congratulations to the following companies earning special recognition at the national level. To qualify for the national Excellence in Construction competition, projects first had to win a top award at the regional chapter level. The Eagle Award is ABC’s highest-level award. Pyramids are awarded to runner-ups.

ABC’s Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading competition that honors both general and specialty contractors for innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects. The awards honor all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects, selected from entries submitted from across the nation, were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.
A panel of industry experts served as the competition’s judges. This year’s panel included representatives from the Building Owners and Managers Association International, the Smithsonian Facilities Construction Division, the Construction Management Association of America, Engineering News-Record, Design-Build Institute of America and various construction-related firms nationwide.
