CALYX Engineers’ President & CEO Jill Wells Heath Named Honorary Chairman for 2018 “Chix Dig It — Celebrating Women in Construction” Luncheon
The 2018 Chix Dig It — Celebrating Women in Construction luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, June 21 at The Renaissance Raleigh-North Hills Hotel in Raleigh, N.C. GroundBreak Carolinas is proud to be the media sponsor for this annual event.
Now in its third year, Chix Dig It was founded by Patricia Lucas Smith, President of Raleigh-based Serving 4 Success, which focuses on growing sustainable opportunities in local communities. This year’s luncheon date was selected to coincide with International Women in Engineering Day.
Smith recently announced that Jill Wells Heath, President and Chief Executive Officer of CALYX Engineers + Consultants, will serve as Honorary Chairman for the 2018 Chix Dig It event.
“I am extremely proud to be a part of this unique and special event. Chix Dig It is designed to uplift and celebrate women in the construction, engineering, and design fields, while giving back through scholarships,” said Ms. Heath. “As a follow-up to last year’s ‘Designing Women’ theme, this year we will come together to celebrate the amazing women of engineering. The 2018 Chix Dig It event is themed, The Hidden Figures: The Untold Story of Women in Engineering.”
To date, Chix Dig It has been able to raise and distribute over $15,000 to institutions of higher learning in North Carolina, and we hope for continued support from the local AEC community. Proceeds from this year’s Chix Dig It luncheon will provide educational assistance to young women who want to pursue a career in engineering.
