“Chix in Motion” Teambuilding Event to Connect Women In/Looking to Enter AEC Industry
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) in the Triangle region is proud to be associated with the inaugural Chix in Motion networking and teambuilding event, a prelude to this summer’s “Chix Dig It – Celebrating Women in Construction” luncheon, planned to coincide with International Women in Engineering Day. Chix in Motion is scheduled for Friday, May 4 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Raleigh’s Tree Runner Adventure Park – a premier aerial adventure park with high-lining and a total of 70 obstacles.
Anna Lynch, PE, CEO of Raleigh-based Lynch Mykins Structural Engineers, PC, is championing this unique first-time event. “Chix in Motion was conceived to foster a fun environment for SWE members and other female professionals in our industry to connect. We especially want to encourage those considering a career in architecture, engineering or construction to attend,” said Lynch. “Triangle-area SWE members are hoping this will be the most enjoyable networking event of the year! Attendees can connect with new faces, while hanging 30 feet in the air. Be assured that there are ranges of activities based on difficulty.”
Lynch Mykins, formerly Stroud Pence, provides full-service structural engineering services to a wide range of industries, including higher education, k-12, healthcare, commercial, government, life science, and sports and recreation. Dedicated to creative approaches, collaborative processes and integrated design, Lynch Mykins is headquartered in Raleigh, with offices in Virginia Beach and Richmond, Virginia.
