Construction Industry Showcases Excellence in Construction

The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas announced the recipients of the construction industry’s premier awards, the Excellence In Construction (EIC) Awards. The Awards were presented at the 16th annual EIC banquet at the Hilton Hotel in Charlotte, N.C.

The pinnacle of the Excellence in Construction Awards is the Project of the Year Award. To earn this prestigious award, contractors must demonstrate a superior level of performance, excellence in meeting or exceeding project quality requirements, design specifications, safety procedures, project team collaboration, overcoming unique obstacles and meeting the project schedule.

Brasfield & Gorrie was honored with the General Contractor Project of the Year Award for the AvidXchange project located in Charlotte, N.C.

Lithko Contracting, LLC. was honored with the Specialty Contractor Project of the Year Award for the Carolina Square project located in Chapel Hill, N.C.

“The EIC Awards showcases the Best of the Best construction projects in the Carolinas,” said Doug Carlson, ABC President & CEO. “These projects exemplify the expertise of our skilled craftsmen and women, building some amazing churches, schools, hospitals and commercial buildings.”

Other Key Category Awards:
M.B. Kahn Construction Co., Inc. received the prestigious Carolinas Green Award for the Richland School District Two Institute of Innovation for an environmentally friendly building in Columbia, S.C.

Frampton Construction was recognized with the Free Enterprise Award for the Confidential Renovation and Expansion project in Charleston, S.C. for the highest use of Merit Shop ABC members on a particular project.

Balfour Beatty received the Carolinas Design-Build Award for the Francis Marion University Luther F. Carter Center for Health Sciences in Florence, S.C.

Barnhill Contracting Company was honored with the BIM (Building Information Technology) Award for their Hill Hall, University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill project.

ABC honored over 60 projects with 29 Eagle Awards, 24 Merit awards, and Honorable Mention awards. See listing of all 2017 EIC Award Recipients!
