McCrory Construction Promotes Nichole Kopenhaver to Senior Project Manager
McCrory Construction, South Carolina’s oldest general contractor, has promoted Nichole Kopenhaver, CIT, CBT, CIS, to Senior Project Manager. Kopenhaver has nearly 30 years of experience in the construction industry, the past 10 with McCrory.
“Nichole has grown tremendously over the past several years, both as a builder and as a leader,” said Allen Bridgers, President of McCrory Construction. “She has consistently demonstrated the ability to take on challenging projects, inspire those around her, and represent McCrory with excellence in the community. We are proud to see her step into the role of Senior Project Manager.”
Most recently, Kopenhaver has distinguished herself by successfully managing some of the company’s most complex housing renovation projects, where her ability to navigate unique challenges with professionalism and precision has earned her respect from both clients and peers.
Kopenhaver has been instrumental in advancing both McCrory’s work and the broader construction industry. Her leadership has been recognized through distinguished honors from the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), including the National Executive Spotlight Award, South Atlantic Region Member of the Year for two consecutive years, South Atlantic Region Top Recruiter, and Chapter Member of the Year. She also served as President of NAWIC Columbia Chapter #113 and chaired the Career Awareness Committee for several years. Finally, she was named a 2021 GroundBreaker by GroundBreak Carolinas for going above and beyond to make a difference for the construction community in the Carolinas.
Kopenhaver’s strong commitment to education and workforce development is evident through her actions outside the workplace. She regularly visits schools and career fairs to connect students with opportunities in construction, while also supporting scholarships and workforce training initiatives. Kopenhaver founded the Construction Kids Discovery & Awareness Day, a hands-on community event in Columbia that introduces young students to career opportunities in construction. She has also worked extensively with the Midlands Education and Business Alliance (MEBA), serving as a speaker for Building Your Future events, Richland School District Two’s GEAR UP program, and mentoring job shadow students interested in STEM-related fields.
“For over a century, McCrory Construction has been synonymous with quality, reliability, and innovation across South Carolina’s built environment. With Nichole’s promotion, the company continues its tradition of investing in the success of its people while building on its legacy of excellence,” added Bridgers.
